5 persons transferred to Bulgaria under the Dublin III Regulation

In the course of a Dublin charter-return operation organised by Austria, a total of 5 persons were handed over to Bulgaria on 23 May 2023 in accordance with the Dublin III Regulation.

Among the repatriated persons were 3 Moroccan and 2 Syrian nationals. The highest qualitative standards were maintained throughout the entire process.

The purpose of the Dublin III Regulation is to determine which Member State of the European Union is responsible for the examination of the asylum application. This ensures that each application for international protection can be processed quickly by the Member State responsible and that the protection assessment in the EU is carried out only once.
