Illegal Migration from India: Consistent returns
Currently, the recognition rate for asylum applications from Indians in Austria is 0 percent. Austria is leading internationally in organizing FRONTEX charter return-operations.
Thus, in the course of a charter return-operation organised by Austria, a further 14 Indian nationals who were obliged to leave the country were handed over to the authorities in Delhi. This was the fourth charter operation so far in 2023. 68 persons were returned in total. In addition, individual returns to India take place on an ongoing basis. In total, the Federal Office for Immigration and Asylum (BFA) has already recorded 257 returns of Indian nationals who are obliged to leave the country in 2023 - 180 of them voluntarily and 77 by force.
The individual cases of all persons returned from Austria to India were comprehensively examined in a procedure based on the rule of law and the asylum procedure was concluded with a negative decision.
