5 persons transferred to Bulgaria under the Dublin III Regulation

In the course of the ninth Dublin charter-return operation to Bulgaria organized by Austria this year, 5 persons were transferred on 4th of October 2023 in accordance with the Dublin III Regulation. The returned persons included 3 Syrian and 2 Afghan nationals. The highest quality standards were maintained throughout the entire process.

In addition to the charter returns, there are also regular transfers by scheduled flights. By the end of August 2023, a total of 65 Dublin transfers to Bulgaria had been carried out - almost twice as many as in the entire previous year.

The purpose of the Dublin III Regulation is to determine the responsibility for examining applications for international protection between member states and is applicable in all EU member states as well as in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland.
